The Brief

Econspiracy — staged as 'The Economic Verdict' — is an academic, stage-based event testing a participant's understanding of economic concepts, analytical ability, confidence and communication skills. Each participant is allotted a topic in advance and prepares their arguments, analysis and viewpoints ahead of time.

On stage, participants first self-evaluate — scoring their own understanding and speaking strengths out of 10 — before delivering a 3–5 minute presentation on topics like India's path to a developed economy, the impact of AI on employment, or the future of digital currencies.

A panel then cross-examines each participant on counterarguments, real-world implementation and the limitations of their ideas. Scoring splits across knowledge (30%), analysis (25%), communication (25%) and how well questions are handled (20%) — with bonus points for accurately predicting your own score.

Core Rules
  • Self-Evaluation First — participants score themselves out of 10 and justify it before presenting.
  • The Presentation — a 3–5 minute presentation on an assigned economic topic.
  • Panel Cross-Examination — judges question participants on counterarguments, real-world implementation and limitations.
  • Scoring Breakdown — Knowledge 30% · Analysis 25% · Communication 25% · Handling Questions 20%.
